in Jesus Christ as the foundation of our faith, we covenant with God and each other to seek God's will for our lives and for
the mission of our church. We will pray for each other and accept one another in love and trust recognizing that we
will not always agree. We commit ourselves to this way of life trusting in God's grace.
We affirm that all people are embraced within the family of God and the community

A Peace with Justice Church
Peace and Justice at Sanbornton Congregational
UCC means that we have affirmed “our dedication to prayer, study and understanding of issues of peace and justice in
ourselves, our families, our community, our state and our world. Knowing that vision of a just and peaceful word begins with
the work of God through each of us,…we resolve to provide a safe place for all people of good will to converse with
God and each other; to use peaceful and creative ways, to settle conflicts; to maintain a spirit of responsiveness and caring
towards all of God’s creation: all people, all creatures, and the planet on which we live; and to work together with
others to build a world of peace, kindness, responsibility and justice in God’s name.”
Small But Lively Sunday School
During the school year the Sunday School meets at the same time as the worship service. Children
attend the first part of the service and leave for class after the Children’s Sermon. A Nursery space is provided in
the undercroft and a rocking chair is available at the rear of the sanctuary for parents with small children who might benefit
from a quiet place during worship.
Our Sunday School Program is for Preschool – Grade 8 and is organized in small, age similar
groups. It is designed to accommodate each child’s particular needs. Our children have fun while learning and
many of their voices ring out each Sunday in our lively Junior Choir. In addition, middle school children have an opportunity
to participate in confirmation class.
